The Nigeria Police Force received Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) from the China Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria and Zall Foundation of China, today, 25th June, 2020, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The donation of the PPEs is in recognition of the critical roles of the Nigeria Police Force in the ongoing efforts at curtailing and containing the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.
While receiving the PPEs, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, who was represented by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, thanked the China Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria for the kind gesture.
The IGP, who also called on other corporate and private groups to emulate the worthy gesture, assured that the PPEs, which include 40,000 Disposable Surgical Masks, 500 Disposable Medical Protective Suite and 1 carton of Infra-red Thermal Imaging Thermometer.
Will be duly distributed to personnel of the Force on the frontline of operations carrying out COVID-19 prevention/enforcement duties.
In his remarks during the presentation, the President of China Chamber of Commerce, Engr. Ye Shuijin stated that the China Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria is made up of all major Chinese enterprises in Nigeria.
He also express his gratitude toward the Nigeria Police for protecting life and property in Nigerian as well as protecting the Chinese citizen in Nigeria.
He noted that the Chamber acknowledges the frontline roles and importance of the Police in ensuring an enabling environment for ease of doing business in Nigeria, combatting COVID-19 pandemic and generallyprotecting lives and property in the country.
Also in attendance were: the Force Medical Officer, DCP Paul Laki and other Senior Police Officers, Cui Guangzhen – Director General China Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria, Senior Colonel Liu Yougxuan – Chinese Defence attached to Nigeria, amongst others.
