A delegation of the Federal Ministry of Finance on 14 July 2026 inspected the Construction of Lafia Bypass and Dualization of 9th Mile (Enugu) – Otukpo – Makurdi Road Project to review progress under its financing arrangement. The project is being implemented by the Federal Ministry of Works and executed by China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC).
It comprises Lafia Bypass road and dualization of the 9th Mile (Enugu) – Otukpo – Makurdi Road across Enugu, Kogi, Benue and Nassarawa States.
The delegation noted satisfactory progress and quality, commended CHEC for its professionalism, and looked forward to the company to maintain momentum toward timely completion.
The project, when completed, will enhance regional connectivity, cut travel time and transport costs, improve safety, boost trade, and support Nigeria ‘s economic growth.
